Akkadia designs and produces ruggedised solutions for all those challenging and critical situations (environmental, technical and economical) experienced by our customers, from public safety to the most extreme demanding conditions in oil and gas exploration. Our focus is on supplying the very best camera packages and enclosures in the market, measured from a quality and economic perspective, always ensuring the optimal photonic quality. Akkadia's knowledge about camera and lens combinations plus our focus on photonics are especially unique and give us the ability to create very effective and high-value solutions.  To underline this, we offer a 10 year factory warranty on the whole camera package (ie enclosure plus camera), when it is assembled and quality assurance tested at our workshop, which also results in low TCO/U. The core of our business is to create innovative custom solutions based on a portfolio of standard products, with the ability to deliver these solutions quickly.

 

We have been active in the business with more than 30 years experience in system design & development (both photonics as well as electro-mechanical) of special camera & video surveillance systems. Starting as a systems integrator, we soon discovered that there was a gap in the market for ruggedised camera & video surveillance solutions, due to inferior delivery quality from suppliers. Thus, we decided to design and develop our own superior quality solutions.

 

Initial customer feedback was positive and the end-user response was overwhelming. Today video surveillance systems are the main part of our business and the company has for example delivered video surveillance systems for the three longest tunnels in the Netherlands. We have delivered our products and solutions mainly throughout Europe, but also Asia and Africa. Our customers include both the end user organisations in transportation, heavy industry, infrastructure, offshore, maritime, public safety and military, as well as the major video surveillance systems providers (and their supply chain). 

 

Since 2017, the company is headquartered in Prinsenbeek (near Breda), the Netherlands. Our local experienced engineering team, own R&D and advanced local manufacturing with full quality control, guarantee that we always offer you the highest quality. 

 

Akkadia assembles our own products and our enclosures are manufactured out of marine grade 316Ti stainless steel or aluminium (anodised or alocrom), fit for purpose and budget.

 

The very short lead time from idea to a completely new and working product or system, utilising our own in-house R&D facility, is often a positive surprise for customers. We can produce prototypes or a proof-of-concept, which is especially useful when the customer is only totally sure about “95%” of the specification, but needs to validate the last “5%” based on tests As an example, our Shield vehicle damage recording system, was designed, manufactured and installed in less than five weeks from concept.

 

Recently, we have obtained extra equity from a Norwegian venture capital company and we are now expanding our business substantially. This investment has led to a brand new HQ and R&D facility in Prinsenbeek, plus opening regional offices in Norway and in UK. Additionally, Akkadia has invested heavily in product development and enhancement.
